Chemicals that protect your swimming pool
Swimming pool chemicals are not a strange fact these days. Today, most swimming pools have a sheath of chemicals that are covered on them. In fact, the odor of chlorine is so stench that anyone who has ever been near a swimming pool will recognize it. Although, chemicals are used is to protect the pool against germs and bacteria it has an adverse effect on the human body. Human cells, the mucus membrane like the eyes can actually get damaged by concentrated chlorine. So it is advisable to use it sparingly in the pool. The chlorine protects patrons of the pool for at least a couple of weeks before it needs replenishing. Not only do chlorine kill harmful germs and bacteria, but it also has properties that neutralize and cleanse other, ahem, less savory substances. What I mean to say is the sign “Don’t pee in the pool”. Although chlorine is the common swimming pool chemical used, a good percentage of individuals are actually allergic to it.
These days there are alternatives to chlorine that are found. They are available in several forms. Bromine is commonly used, as is oxy shock. The latter is an oxygen product, potassium mono peroxy sulphate, that is actually odorless and does not tend to provoke allergic reactions, yet does the same job as chlorine. The chemicals are inexpensive, but you should always consider the health benefits that you do get as a result of employing them. They can be purchased at any medical shop and we must never forget how important chemicals are in protecting your pool.
